You can recycle your slightly used or extra wrapping paper (no crumpled or wadded pieces please) at CARA now thru January - if unable to bring to CARA, City Hall at 111 E. Lawrence will has be a collection point!

Our hours are Tuesdays 10am-12pm and 2pm-6pm and Saturdays from 8:30am-12pm.

CARA No Longer Accepting Color Glass

Effective immediately, 2016, the Charlotte Area Recycling Authority (CARA) is no longer able to accept color glass any kind, due to a steep increase in cost to recycle the material coupled with the growing deficit that CARA is facing.    

CARA is still accepting clear food grade glass but is recommending to please take color glass to one of the other locations listed on the Eaton County Resource Recovery’s website, until we can find an economically feasible way to recycle the material.

**ATTENTION** Charlotte Area Recycling Authority will be closed this Saturday May 28th in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume regular recycling hours on Tuesday May 31st. We appreciate your understanding.
