Thanks to the generous amount of community support, the Spaghetti Fundraiser Dinner for CARA held on June 4, 2021 was a huge success! The total raised at the event was over $1,200.00! All of the money raised will go directly to CARA, thanks to the generous sponsorships from the Eaton Area Senior Center, Metro Recycling Solutions, Polly Products, Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services - ECHRS and Dart Container.
Everyone at CARA would like to thank all of the hard working staff and volunteers at the Eaton Area Senior Center. We are extremely grateful to Cindy Miller, Pam Burt, Connie Dayton, Jeremy Mulvany, Tyler Mulvany, Marissa Mulvany, and Cecelia Underwood for donating their time and energy to clean, cook, serve, and work the event, all in addition to giving CARA the use of the venue. Last but certainly not least, thank you to everyone that was able to attend and/or support the fundraiser! We appreciate all of you!

*ATTENTION RECYCLERS*
Recently, staff members have been finding jugs of cooking oil being left on the ground next to the cooking oil container. Please do not leave jugs or bottles of cooking oil for staff to take care, this is a self-service container. Also these jugs and bottles cannot be recycled after being emptied unless they are washed first. We ask that after you empty your jugs, you then take them home to be cleaned. Once cleaned, you can return them to CARA to be recycled. Thank you for understanding!

Earth Day is quickly approaching!
Everyone can help keep our planet clean and beautiful.
Here are some easy ideas for celebrating Earth Day:
*Reduce (buy less, especially plastic).
*Reuse (repurpose it, find new uses for one-time use items).
*Recycle (clean and sorted right!).
*Cut down on your energy use/waste.
*Spend the day outside cleaning up a park, a field, a community garden, etc.
*Plant trees, vegetables, fruits, flowers, etc.

To the illegal dumper of a door (not accepted), window pane glass (not accepted) in our food grade only glass (quite possibly contaminating the entire load) and the several fluorescent light bulbs (accepted in residential quantities, not commercial quantities as they are costly to recycle) while we were closed; please know that dumping at CARA is illegal and if we discover who the perpetrator is, they will be prosecuted and subject to a $500.00 fine.
*Recyclers and CARA supporters* please be on the lookout and report any suspicious or illegal activity happening at CARA. This was a very costly dumping that we cannot afford to continue to take on. Thank you!
