The Charlotte Area Recycling Authority (CARA) is a local drop-off recycling center for residents in and surrounding the Charlotte, Michigan area, located at 201 Hall Street. The Center is funded through donations, sale of recyclable materials and grants from Eaton County Resource Recovery. While recycling is a free service, donations are always welcomed and greatly appreciated.

2 Hour Opening Delay on Saturday, January 13, 2018
*ATTENTION RECYCLERS!*
2 HOUR DELAY TOMORROW 1/13/18 AT CARA!
We have some bad news and some good news: The bad news is it is supposed to be pretty cold in the morning with the forecast predicting negative temps with the windchill, however, the good news is that it should be warm enough for us to open at 10:00am! We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you again for understanding that safety is our first priority! See you all tomorrow from 10:00am-12:00pm!
Growing Plastic Recycling Concerns...
Please be aware of the growing recycling (or lack thereof) concerns. We are hoping that there is a solution is in the works for plastic recycling, however we also want our recyclers to be ready if this ends up affecting our ability to accept the plastics that we are currently taking.

♲ REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE ♲
Just a reminder as to why we need to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! A sea of plastic bottles, cutlery and polystyrene plates has
been found floating in the Caribbean.
A New Year’s resolution to all of us - cut down on plastic.
